Important News.

Changes to Driving Test October 2010.

The government is looking into the possibility of making the Driving Test more difficult to improve the overall standard of road safety. The options considered are as follows:- 

THE DRIVING TEST NOW.

Theory Test. Taken from age of 17 in two parts:- Part 1- Multiple Choice. Part 2 - Hazard Perception.

Practical Test. Eyesight Check / Safety Checks / General Driving Ability / Two Reversing Exercises / Emergency Stop.

THE PROPOSED CHANGES.

1/. Driver attitude test. This will be done as part of the Theory Test.

2/. Introduction of Independant Driving where for 10 mins. the candidate has to navigate to a set location using only road signs. No directions will be given by the examiner during drive. In order to facilitate this, the number of manoeuvre's will be cut to one.

Whatever the government decide to do is good news if it is to improve road safety. It also means that now is the most cost effective time to learn to drive. Do not delay and book your driving lessons with Anston School Of Motoring.
